Prison Break Is Coming Back

Comic-Con 2016 brought with it some huge entertainment announcements - including the long awaited return of Prison Break

Golden Globe winning crime caper Prison Break is returning for a new season in 2017, with a trailer and teaser clip having been exclusively revealed at this year's Comic-Con. The show’s stars – including main-man Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell and Sarah Wayne Callies – and producers Vaun Wilmott and Michael Horowitz were also present for the event.

The all new adventure was filmed on location in Morocco, the possible haven of Miller’s character Michael Scofield, who was originally presumed dead at the end of the last season.

Fans of the first season will also note Michael’s newest set of tattoos, of which Miller had to say:

“Michael has a fresh set of tattoos and they are central to the plot, but they don’t work the same way they did the first time around.

The blend of old and new is what seemingly attracted Miller back to the role, with the new season effectively getting the green light only when Miller’s signature was secured, and screenwriter Paul T Scheuring was back as showrunner and writer.

“I figured that we would have to be true to the show’s DNA, once Paul Scheuring signed on to spearhead these nine episodes,” Miller said. “I wanted it to be something you remember, but also something radical and different and new.”
