Whilst Sarah Jessica Parker has been talking to Harper’s Bazaar about her love of her shoes in Sex and the City, her co-star Kristin Davis feels bad for encouraging women to wear he pricey, four-inch heels the cast wore.
Speaking to The Sunday Telegraph, Davis confessed that she feels guilty if they gave the impression that all women should wear heels every day.
“I do feel guilt about the heels,” she says. “It did seem we were trying to say to women, ‘You should be wearing heels like these’. But we definitely weren’t. Were they beautiful shoes? Yes. Were they appropriate for the characters? Yes, that’s what women like that wear. But it became a bigger picture thing, where it seemed women should be wearing them every day.”
Oh, we’ll forgive you! Let’s face it, which of us ever had the stamina to train our feet to wear heels every day?
The actress admits that she's swapped to much more sensible shoes these days, but that has affected her staying power. "I wear heels so rarely now," she say. "It hurts when I do – you have to get in training for them, and it takes a lot of practice."
