Alicia Keys Goes Make Up Free on Red Carpet

Sensational songstress Alicia Keys has recently launched a #NoMakeUp campaign, and has shown off her incredible natural beauty for both her new album and last night's BET Awards...

Songstress Alicia Keys took to the red carpet of last night’s BET Awards with a make-up free look to promote body positivity. The 'Fallin'' singer is currently promoting her upcoming album alongside a #NoMakeUp campaign to highlight the phenomenal pressures that women in show business face to look desirable.

"Women are brainwashed into feeling like we have to be skinny, or sexy, or desirable, or perfect. One of the many things I was tired of was the constant judgment of women,” the 35-year-old wrote on Lenny, “The constant stereotyping through every medium that makes us feel like being a normal size is not normal, and heaven forbid if you're plus-size. Or the constant message that being sexy means being naked."

"Every time I left the house, I would be worried if I didn't put on makeup: What if someone wanted a picture?? What if they POSTED it???” she continued, “These were the insecure, superficial, but honest thoughts I was thinking. And all of it, one way or another, was based too much on what other people thought of me."

As well as gracing the BET red carpet make-up free, Alicia has also gone for the natural look on all her new album’s promotional shots, and husband Swizz Beatz posted a make-up free photo of her from a Vanity Fair photoshoot:

The 15-time Grammy Award winner debuted her new track 'In Common' at the awards show to huge acclaim, and the new song represents her first musical offering since 2012's 'Girl on Fire.'
