Following the enormous success of HBO’s Big Little Lies, we ought to have known that something else from Aussie author Liane Moriarty would be hitting our screens soon. Reese Witherspoon has teased that there may in fact be a second season of BLL, but in the meantime, we will have to make do with another of Moriarty’s hit novels: The Husband’s Secret.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Blake Lively is set to play the lead in the CBS Films’ adaptation, playing Cecilia Fitzpatrick, ‘a chronic perfectionist whose suburban bubble is burst when she finds a note from her husband addressed to her with instructions to open it in the event of his death.’ The one hitch of course, is that Cecilia’s hubby is alive and kicking, leading her to discover ‘a secret which leads her to realize that her life is built on a foundation of lies and murder.’
Though a date for release has not been set, nor a Director announced, it has been revealed that Lively will executive produce the film, which will also be produced by Chris Weitz, Paul Weitz, and Andrew Miano. Pinot Grigio at the ready ladies…
