Cruft’s prestigious Best in Show award may have been won by a two-year-old American Cocker Spaniel called Miami Ink, but the real star of the show was Olly, a Jack Russell who used the Agility Challenge course to show his preening and polished pooch competitors how Crufts should really be done.
Ignoring his trainer Karen, Olly careened around the course with a carefree attitude, sending hurdles flying, leaping headfirst over others and occasionally stopping to investigate something in the corner of the arena. A rescue dog from the Blue Cross, Olly won the hearts of the audience with some spectacular nosedives and the closest thing a dog can manage to an inane grin.
