Were Bowie's Ashes Scattered at Burning Man?

Rumour has it that the music legend was laid to rest at the Temple of Black Rock City, during Burning Man's fiery festival finale.

Burning Man festival ended in its traditional fiery way last week, but rumours are emerging that alongside the classic immolation of the huge structure known as the Temple, there was also a small ceremony during which David Bowie’s ashes were scattered.

According to E! News, Bowie’s godchild and the musical superstar “had long talks about Burning Man and what it stands for, and David loved the message behind it.”

Whilst there remains some confusion as to the validity of the claim, with a spokesperson for Bowie’s family denying the reports, one festival-goer has appeared to give credence to the story.

“It originally came from my blog," said Mark Milhaly. "There's no question it's true. I've spoken to multiple people who were there, including an art car owner, who was in the procession and [who] is in contact with Bowie's family.”

"I've also seen photographs, which I'm not allowed to share out of respect,” he continued. "The family member who brought the ashes requested to be taken out of my piece, so I removed him/her from my article and post. It was apparently supposed to be a fairly private affair, but when you have dozens of people at something it's unlikely to remain totally private."
