World Soccer magazine subscription holders may be surprised by who their peers have voted Player of the Decade after AC Milan and Brazil's Ronaldinho scooped the award.
The attacking midfielder enjoyed a strong start to the noughties, much of which he spent with Barcelona.
His famous ponytail seemed to be everywhere - in TV adverts, on computer games and, perhaps more importantly, on football highlight reels.
Ronaldinho managed to scoop what are arguably the world's most prestigious medals between 2000 and 2009, winning both the Fifa World Cup in 2002 and the Uefa Champions League in 2006.
However, he later fell out of favour with Barcelona, before making his way to Italy to represent AC Milan.
David Beckham's team mate managed to beat other favourites Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo to the gong, perhaps due to the fact that votes from across the decade counted towards the prize.
Messi recently won the European Footballer of the Year and was awarded World Soccer magazine's World Soccer Player of the Year earlier this week.
