Robert Concina, more commonly known by his stage name Robert Miles, has died aged 47 after suffering a mystery illness, DJ Mag Italia reports.
The Italian native was celebrated in the Nineties for his iconic 'Children' track, which became one of the biggest dance music anthems of all time, making number one in over 12 countries around the world. He went on to create a string of other hits during this period, and though he had largely been out of the limelight since, he was still active as a producer and even launched Open Lab, a Balearic radio station.
"The tragic news of the death of a very talented artist of our time, makes me incredulous and upset,” said his longtime friend, Joe T Vannelli. “I will miss the fights, brawls, criticism, judgements but especially your talent in finding sounds and melodies unparalleled."
