Emma Watson wants to move away from Hermione

Emma Watson chats to GQ about ditching Hermione, meditation and why she still lives with her parents.

If you have a GQ magazine subscription you probably would have already seen that this month’s cover star is Emma Watson – who is best known for playing Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter series.

However, Watson is determined to shake off that label and be taken seriously as an actress. "I'm prepared to wait it out. If it takes five years, it takes five years. If it takes more time . . . I'm here for the long haul," she tells the magazine.

She admits that when her life gets a little too crazy, she has started to take time out to meditate. "I'd be jet-lagged, and I'd have a lot of different things to think about . . . I just needed something to stop the noise. I'm a very heady person; I'm in my head a lot,” she says. "So I just needed something to slow down my thought process and so everything gets a lot quieter. It's really helped me."

While she may be growing up – and certainly isn’t short on cash – she still doesn’t have her own place, choosing to crash with her parents instead when she’s home.

"It's madness, I know. It's really silly. I know, I really should do something about it," she says. "But it's like my choices with everything. I just always have to be sure it's really something I want! Yeah, you can see, there's a big thought process that goes behind everything... I guess it just seems really grown up.”
