Homebuilding and Renovating magazine has looked at a number of projects in its August issue, which should give readers plenty of inspiration to use in their own ventures.
The publication examined a self-build which it says provides room for the family, while still offering a huge helping of country chic in Home on the Ranch.
Meanwhile, The Glass Haus looks at a property made from timber and glazing that was built in just 16 weeks and Curious Georgian highlights a period townhouse which has been restored and is now a luxury home.
Other features include a design masterclass with tips on how to transform properties that were built in the 1960s.
How to Make Open Plan Spaces Work does exactly what it says on the tin, while the magazine also includes useful guides to buying baths and selecting bricks.
The publication's website recently contained a feature on a self-build property in Yorkshire which cost £370,000 to construct and is now valued at £450,000, showing how those who are willing to put in the effort can often be rewarded.
