Anyone with an Apple Mac who has a T3 magazine subscription might be excited to hear Apple's exclusive app store for the computers is due to open online today.
Deciding to shun the convention halls in the US and global electronics shows, Apple is choosing to launch its desktop and laptop app offerings in the virtual world within the next few hours.
T3 magazine reports Apple boss Steve Jobs, commenting on the store last year, said: "The App Store revolutionised mobile apps.
"We hope to do the same for PC apps with the Mac App Store by making finding and buying PC apps easy and fun. We can’t wait to get started on January 6th."
On the Mac App Store, users will be able to browse new and popular offerings, find reviews on which are hot and search through all the available categories.
According to Apple, there are at least a whopping 300,000 apps on offer to iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad users at present.
