Title: Coast Magazine
Maggi Hambling, the designer of the famous Scallop sculpture on Aldeburgh beach, has spoken to Coast about her affinity with the sea.
The artist says she has regarded the sea as a "friend" from an early age and that she continues to draw inspiration from it for her work.
A resident of Suffolk, Ms Hambling drives to the coast every morning, taking her dog and sketchbook with her.
"Water, as a subject, has still got me firmly by the short and curlies," she explained in an interview with the publication.
"It's got life and death and sex - I mean, what more do you want?"
Meanwhile, the latest edition of Coast magazine contains tips on how to find a coastal home near a good school and details of an "eccentric" hotel in Whitby.
There is also a rundown of 50 budget seaside breaks which can be had for under £50 a night.
