His name’s James Charles, he’s only 17, his makeup game is fierce, naturally, and yesterday he became the first male ambassador for the cosmetic giant in its nearly 60 years as a brand. He will appear in print, television and digital ads both with sparking superstar Perry and by himself.
Charles is a makeup artist and a senior in high school, with nearly 430k Instagram followers, so naturally this is the platform he used to announce his exciting news via the CoverGirl account. Charles breaks the news by telling everyone being a part of the illustrious brand is “living out one of my biggest dreams.”
The brand also released an official press release of the news, in which they shared that Charles has all the key elements of a CoverGirl:
