Anger as Blackberry system crashes again today

Many Blackberry users were left without internet, email or instant messaging yesterday as RIM experienced a server crash and problems strike again today.

No doubt those of you with a Mobile Choice magazine subscription will already know that Research In Motion (RIM), who operate Blackberry’s systems, experienced a crash with their Slough-based server yesterday, leaving Blackberry customers across Europe, Asia and the Middle East unable to use email, internet or instant messaging on their mobile phones.

Customers were left feeling frustrated that they were not able to use the services that they had paid for – particularly those who use email and the internet on their phone for business purposes.

The crash seemed to have been fixed as RIM released a statement saying that all problems had been resolved – only for the system to go and crash again a few hours later.

Twitter has been rife with comments from angry customers, annoyed at the time it took the company to resolve the problem and for the same thing to happen again soon after.

The problems aren’t doing much for Blackberry’s reputation, as the competition between the top smart phones is already fierce – with the likes of iPhones and Androids breathing down Blackberry’s neck.

You’d only need to flick through the latest issue of your Mobile Choice magazine subscription to see all the amazing new phones on the market – those with 3G, amazing cameras, a million apps and much more.
