Jessica Ennis wins Sportswoman of the Year

Jessica Ennis is awarded Sportswoman of the Year by The Sunday Times!

The Sunday Times have named Jessica Ennis their Sportswoman of the Year and we have to say that we agree with their decision wholeheartedly.

2012 will go down in history as one of the best sporting years for the UK after so many of our athletes were successful in both the Olympic Games and various tournaments throughout the year.

Jessica Ennis won gold for Team GB when she competed in the heptathlon, setting three personal bests along the way.

Speaking to the BBC about her win, Ennis said: "It's so nice, once you've done all the hard work and you've achieved, to be awarded with these amazing awards that people have voted for.

"It's a real honour and Sports Personality [BBC Sports Personality of the Year] is definitely going to be a big one too. It's going to be a surprise on the night I think but a great evening."
