Glamour magazine subscription holders can read how model Sophie Anderton believes a tabloid expose saved her life.
The reality TV star told Glamour magazine she'd gone on a week-long drugs bender and was "steamrolling out of control" before the News of the World article came out.
"I made bad choices, but I'm not blaming anyone. I've got nothing to grouch about, and what's remarkable is that I probably would have been dead if that hadn't happened," she said.
Sophie's had a long string of high-profile failed relationships during her time in the limelight but now she's settled down with internet businessman James Simpson.
She told Glamour magazine: "I believe in guardian angels and James is so strong and intolerant of drugs, I was able to knock drinking and drugs on the head because I knew it would destroy us."
Sophie became famous for her Gossard ad campaign in the 1990s. The model has appeared on a couple of reality TV shows in the past few years in a bid to boost her profile, including Celebrity Love Island and I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!.
