If you have a Match of the Day magazine subscription then you may already know that the magazine have named their Player of the Year for the Championship Leage, as well as for Leagues 1 and 2.
In the Championship League, Crystal Palace’s Glenn Murray has been named the winner of the prestigious title, whilst League 1 is Doncaster’s David Cotterill and League 2 is Port Vale’s Tom Pope.
The judges said of their decision: “Murray’s 29 goals are the reason Palace have been in the top five since October and they’ll need him in top form for the Play off campaign.”
In Division One Cotterill was praised for his “mind-boggling ten goals and 20 assists so far”, whilst of Pope, they said: “With 31 goals, only Lionel Messi has scored more league goals.”
