Prince Harry’s interviews on return from Afghanistan

Prince Harry is interviewed as he prepares to leave Afghanistan.

Prince Harry is returning to the UK after completing his tour in Afghanistan. Having been there for four months, Harry has given frank interviews about his time there and what was involved.

The Guardian newspaper report that he has confirmed that he has had to shoot when necessary, saying: "If there's people trying to do bad stuff to our guys, then we'll take them out of the game."

"We fire when we have to, take a life to save a life, but essentially we're more of a deterrent than anything else,” he adds.

He also talks about press intrusion on his life and the recent photo scandal of himself in Las Vegas. Whilst he feels that the press shouldn’t have reported the story, he does say: "At the end of the day I probably let myself down, I let my family down, I let people down." He says at the time it was "a classic example of me probably being too much army, and not enough prince. It's as simple as that".
