Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney could be England's best hope of bringing home the coveted World Cup trophy this summer and Nuts magazine has suggested that everything be done to make sure he is there.

The Red Devils forward has been in blistering form this season and the publication has looked at ways to keep him safe that stop short of wrapping him in cotton wool until international football's premier competition begins.

With 26 league goals so far and 33 in all competitions, the number ten will be hoping to lead his country to glory in South Africa.

He was rested for the 4-0 thrashing of Bolton this weekend and England fans may be hoping that Sir Alex Ferguson decides to give him a few more breaks before the end of the season to reduce his chances of being injured for the World Cup.

Meanwhile, Nuts magazine also features an article in which former footballer Paul Merson describes how manager Fabio Capello can lead England to glory this summer.
