If anyone should be glad that 2013 is now over it’s Khloe Kardashian, who is the cover star of Cosmopolitan’s February issue. The youngest Kardashian sister has just filed for divorce from husband of four years Lamar Odom, after months of rumours about his drug use and cheating.
For someone who puts so much of her life out in the public eye, she’s stayed tight-lipped on the state of her marriage – and that’s fair enough.
Speaking to Cosmopolitan, it’s clear she’s excited for the new year. “I love the new year, new beginnings. I need a good fresh start; I’m excited for this year to be over with,” she says.
The reality TV star has lost 30lbs over the past year, but she’s done it for herself rather than to keep anyone else happy. “I’ve always been compared to Kourtney and Kim, which I’m fine with. I’m never going to be their size – I’m 5ft 10ins and they’re, like, 5ft. I was really tough on myself as a teenager. They were drop-dead gorgeous and never had weight issues, but I was the ‘chubby’ one. I’m proud for losing weight when I wanted to and I’ve never resorted to surgery. I’m not against it – one day I probably will but it would be on my terms. I won’t be bullied into it by social media or anyone else. I love my body and always have done.”
One thing has to be said about Khloe, she has a great positive mental attitude – even after a tough year. “My life has made me who I am at this moment and I’m very happy with who I am. No matter if it’s great, disgusting, beautiful or ugly; it happens and makes you you. Life is about how you process things.”
