Glamour magazine’s These Girls event

Glamour magazine gather some of our favourite females to chat and perform at their These Girls event.

If you have a Glamour magazine subscription, you’ll know that the magazine is like the printed, inanimate version of a best friend and a great read for females around the round.

Overseas last night the US magazine hosted an event named These Girls which saw the likes of Emma Roberts, Dianna Agron, Alexa Chung, Amy Schumer, Lucy Punch and Zosia Mamet all under one roof to celebrate the awesomeness of being female.

Each guest took their turn to perform or even just talk up on stage. We’d say it’s modern feminism at its finest… yet, when you put a group of attractive women together in a room, what do they talk about? Men!

Alexa Chung opened up about heartbreak, saying: “There are upsides to despair though. You can wear a blanket in public instead of a coat.”

She confessed to asking for advice from those around her, and even Marianne Faithfull. Chung said: “It’s fashion week, and I’m wasted, because that’s what happens at fashion week: you get drunk and you watch alright collections and you’re like [clap, clap] that was amazing. Glug glug. So I’m drunk, and I go up to her and I say, ‘Marianne, how did you get over Mick Jagger?’”

Marianne’s response? “Darling, you can’t believe the lyrics.” However, her mother went for the more traditional advice of the best way to get over someone is to “get under another”.

Girls star Zosia Mamet was a little more positive about her love life, saying: “I fell in love this year,” she said. “In a very major way. And it has been glorious, and arresting and the scariest f**king thing that I’ve ever experienced.”
