Eastenders fans who thought they had seen the last of Sam Mitchell should think again, Now magazine has revealed.
The character is set to make a spectacular return at the end of the summer, an insider explained.
Played by 35-year-old Danniella Westbrook, Sam returns to Albert Square from prison heavily pregnant.
However, it is unclear who the father of the unborn child is, so viewers can expect tension between former partner Ricky Butcher, who is now married to Bianca, and Jack Branning, with whom Sam had an affair.
The source told the Daily Star that she claims to her family that the child belongs to Butcher, but this causes trouble between Ricky and his new wife.
Meanwhile, the plot could thicken if the child turns out to be Jack's, as he is now in a relationship with Sam's cousin Ronnie Mitchell.
In other news, Now magazine has noted that Cheryl Cole collapsed during a recent photoshoot and has been told that it was down to extreme exhaustion.
