Title: Closer

Closer magazine is asking its readers to vote on which act is best for getting a party started.

Madonna was recently named the most played artist of the noughties by Radio 2's People's Artist Chart, but the publication is looking to discover who its readers feel is the best act for getting people dancing.

As well as 51-year-old Madge, the list of potential candidates includes Robbie Williams, Lady Gaga, Queen, Brittney Spears, Girls Aloud and the Black Eyed Peas.

The former wife of renowned film director Guy Ritchie, Madonna's star has been shining brightly for decades, with the singer continually reinventing herself to appeal to new audiences and keep up with the times.

Meanwhile, ex-Take That star Robbie Williams has carved a successful career for himself as a solo artist, with songs like Angels and Rock DJ proving popular at parties around the country.

Girls Aloud's success has included tunes such as Can't Speak French and Jump (For My Love), which featured in a famous scene in Love Actually in which Hugh Grant, playing the British prime minister, was caught dancing to the song.

While Brittney has endured a rollercoaster career and personal life, her ability to inspire a party with her music is undeniable.

Meanwhile, Black Eyed Peas' fame continues to grow both in the UK and across the pond in the US, with the group releasing a string of smash hits.

Controversial Lady Gaga may not be everyone's favourite act, but the catchiness of her tunes is undeniable - a fact reflected by the number of times they are played on the UK's radio stations.
