Maya Rudolph and Danny McBride are funny most days of the week, but put them in terrible outfits with bad wigs and make them pose awkwardly and it will definitely produce an extra snigger.
The pair have done exactly that in GQ’s comedy issue. The ‘awkward family photo’ is something we’ve all participated in, so why not have a laugh about it?
Speaking about the weird pairing, Danny McBride says: “One of my friends sent me some [casting call] link that said, ‘Looking for Maya Rudolph and Danny McBride look-alikes as children,’ and they were like, ‘What the f–k is this?’ It said something about fuzz on their faces being a plus.” It wasn’t just Danny and Maya causing havoc on the set, though. Maya says: “With the child quotient, we were thinking we’d have to be on our best behavior. But then one of our daughters—cherubic face, 11 years old—started singing along to the filthiest, dirtiest southern rap.”
