Cast your minds back two and a half years… Do you remember the account that tweeted the goings on inside the elevator of the office that houses US Vogue magazine? @CondeElevator anonymously posted a number of ridiculous comments ‘overheard’ in the lift in the Condé Nast Publications building.
The Twitter account was only live for a total of 11 days, but scored plenty of attention – and retweets – until the employee behind it closed it down. Well… now the person behind it has come clean and it was former GQ associate editor Lauren Bans.
Bans left GQ a month ago and decided yesterday to make herself known. “Since we’re all coming out now…I was @CondeElevator!” she tweeted, whilst linking to an article about her escapades.
Favourite Tweets whilst the account were going strong include:
- Lady: The worst part is I can't wear the Cartier one because the wrist strap gives me a rash.
- Teen Vogue-er to Teen Vogue-er: I don't understand why she was so p**sed. I'd want to know if something made me look fat.
and
- Girl #1: I love that necklace, I saw it at Banana last week and almost bought it too. Girl #2: [flips hair] This is Gucci.
Well… we know that GQ has a witty side to it!
