Paralympics gets ready to rumble!

The Paralympics kick off tonight - but will the torch make it to the opening ceremony?

Well, it's safe to say that us Brits got well and truly into the Olympic spirit of things a fortnight ago - particularly after we smashed 2008's number of medals.

Now it's time for the Paralympics and we're just as excited to see how us Brits get on, and we should think those of you with an Able magazine subscription are especially keen to see how the games go.

In Beijing we managed to come second with a grand total of 102 medals (42 of which were gold) - though it does rather pale in comparison when you remember that China won 211. Still, we're hopeful that we'll do quite well, especially if this year's Olympic Games are anything to go on.

The opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games is being held tonight, though with the Paralympic torch reportedly running two and a half hours behind schedule, it looks like they may well have to crack out a spare torch to light the flame.

Rumours are that this evening's ceremony will be spectacular with appearances from injured soldiers, disabled acrobats and even Stephen Hawking! We can't wait to tune in and watch it tonight.
