If you have a My Weekly magazine subscription you’ll know that they love to help out wherever they can, which is why they’re running their Helping Hand Appeal for the 14th time!
Over the years the magazine has helped raise money for different charities around the world, helping to improve lives of those in need.
This year they will be working with Mary’s Meals, who support starving children living in poverty in Kenya. The campaign runs from today until Christmas and every week you will see different features promoting the cause.
My Weekly Editor Sally Hampton said, “The My Weekly Helping Hand Appeal began in 1999 when My Weekly readers were so moved by our report on the plight of children in Romania that they began sending cards, presents and cheques. It was through our commitment to ensure every penny readers donated was spent wisely that we started working with Magnus MacFarlane-Barrow, the founder of Mary’s Meals.”
She added, “Our readers inspire us with their generosity. Last year alone they generated over £35,000 for Mary’s Meals and I hope that they’ll get behind this year’s appeal which helps children in Kenya.”
