GQ magazine has landed an exclusive interview with Iron Man 2 director and star Jon Favreau.
The sequel to the box office busting original is set to hit film theatres next month and the publication was keen to talk to Favreau ahead of the premiere.
He explained that the Iron Man character comes from "an amalgam of a lot of different people", but that much of the successful onscreen personality comes from Robert Downey Jr.
"I think the biggest element are aspects of his personality and of my personality - that combination creates Tony [Stark- Iron Man's alter-ego]," he said.
Favreau added that Downey Jr plays a pivotal role by providing a different perspective which has an influence on everything from the script to the editing.
The director revealed that the new movie will see Tony Stark's hard work having a tough effect on him.
He has now become "entrenched" in the world of both tech and celebrity and has been forced to mature, Favreau noted.
Film fans will not have to wait much longer to find out more - aside from reading GQ, the movie is due in UK cinemas on April 30th.
