Zooey Deschanel tells Cosmo why she believes in true love

Zooey Deschanel opens up to Cosmopolitan about true love and working on her website in the April issue.

She won us over in Elf, but Zooey Deschanel is now best known as Jess Day, the quirky but cute primary school teacher in hit comedy New Girl.

Those of you with a Cosmopolitan magazine subscription will have already noticed that the actress is the cover star of the April issue.

In the interview, Deschanel speaks about her strong belief in love, despite having recently divorced Death Cab for Cutie’s Ben Gibbard, and better still, she’s confident that true love can last forever. "My parents have been married for 40 years and my grandparents were married for 70 years. I come from a long line of true loves."

When she’s not acting or falling in love, Zooey works on the website she created, HelloGiggles.com. It started off as a little bit of fun where women can go and read about everything from manicures to politics, and as the name suggests, they’re all about remaining positive.

"I was so tired of every site having these comment sections that were pure toxic energy,” she says. "I have a pretty thick skin about it. But if someone were to do that to one of our 13-year-old bloggers, I would kill them."
