Fearne Cotton has been keeping a low profile since she gave birth to her baby boy Rex last year, but now she’s about come back on our radios again and this month she’s on the cover of Cosmopolitan.
Speaking with the magazine, she gushes about her love for boyfriend Jesse and how she’s coping with being a mother.
“Jesse and I met through a friend in a restaurant in Ibiza and we just clicked,” she tells Cosmo. “I don’t think there’s anything you can really pinpoint when it happens like that. I’d been in love before, but this was different. He makes me laugh, and he balances me out. Just yesterday I was getting really stressed out. I was like, ‘I want to be a good mum and a good girlfriend and I’m trying to work,’ and he just defused it. I don’t have the mental ability to do that.”
She talks about how having a baby has also meant that she and Jesse have to be much more considerate with one another’s time.
“Our relationship has changed since having Rex; we have to juggle more now, and we’re more organised. Jesse has two children from a previous relationship, and we have them to stay a lot – so as well as looking after Rex, I’m their friend and support network when they’re at our house. Jesse and I will sit down on a Sunday and say, ‘What are you doing tomorrow? When can I go to yoga? Okay, you want to go to football then – I’ll schedule it in.’ It gives you that scope to do things on a daily basis, which really helps.”
