Cosmopolitan magazine is all over the news at the moment – the French version of the magazine have been the latest publication to embrace plus-sized models by using curvaceous Laura Catterall on the front cover of their April issue in a 1950s-inspired shoot AND the British Cosmopolitan is celebrating its 40th birthday!
That’s right, Cosmopolitan has been one of the country’s best-loved magazine subscriptions since it first launched back in March 1972 – and can we just say that it has definitely improved with age!
The magazine celebrates their 40 year history in the latest issue, featuring Holly Willoughby on the cover in a photo shoot that is a far cry from the television presenter’s usual wholesome appearance.
Amaud de Puyfontaine, chief executive of Hearst UK who publish the magazine, says: "Cosmopolitan deals with eternal truths, encouraging women to be the best they can be, healthy happy relationships and fashionable choices.
"Cosmo will be as relevant in 40 years as it was at launch because it’s in touch with modern women. Where and how people consume Cosmopolitan may vary but we are excited by what that means."
