Apple Mac App store sees million downloads in a day

If you've got a Stuff magazine subscription, you can read how there were a million downloads in just one day when Apple launched its new app store.

Any tech news fans who have a Stuff magazine subscription can read how the new Apple Mac App store saw one million downloads in one day when it went live yesterday (January 6th).

Apple has not yet disclosed how many of the applications had to be paid for, but it is still a very impressive number, meaning it could well cement itself as the default software portal for Mac users, reports Stuff magazine.

Staff at Stuff magazine were keen to get a peek at the apps on offer, apparently because they were curious about the hype.

The mag reported: "Kudos to Apple, though - the Mac App Store does streamline the process of buying, downloading and installing apps.

"It does make sense to be able to install components of iLife and iWork selectively."

According to Apple, there are currently around 300,000 apps on offer for users of the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.
