Inception star Leonardo DiCaprio has spoken of his relief at passing on the mantle of Hollywood heartthrob.
According to OK! magazine, the actor explained how his early roles in movies such as Titanic left his career heading in a direction he was unhappy with.
"I didn't want to do romantic films or anything that just exploited my image or appearance," he told the publication.
DiCaprio revealed that he even considered giving up acting for a while to get rid of the stigma and noted that he enjoys his work much more now that a new generation of pin-ups have made the breakthrough.
With young stars such as Zac Efron and Robert Pattinson beginning to replace the likes of DiCaprio on bedroom walls, the Blood Diamond actor can breathe a little easier knowing that the roles he is chosen for are not just down to his looks.
He noted how such celebrities have to keep a level head and understand that the attention they are getting will not last forever.
Meanwhile, OK! has exclusively reported that Cheryl Cole is out of intensive care, but still faces a battle to recover from malaria.
