Bands unite for 100 Club gig

People with an NME magazine subscription can read about the Editors and I Am Arrows uniting to perform a gig at the soon-to-be-closed 100 Club in London.

Music fans with an NME magazine subscription can read how Editors frontman Tom Smith joined Andy Burrows, formerly of Razorlight, and I Am Arrows to perform at the threatened London hotspot, the 100 Club.

At the climax of the duo's set, they played a cover of Black's 1987 hit Wonderful Life, reports NME magazine.

The 100 Club may be forced to close due to soaring rental costs of £166,000 a year, which is a 45 per cent rise on last year's rent charges.

Burrows urged members of the crowd to sign a petition to save the London venue during his gig.

Andy spoke to NME magazine after the show, explaining how he and Smith decided to pair up for the performance.

"Ever since I did the 'Colour Of My Dreams' show at the Union Chapel, Tom and I have talked about doing something together," he said.

"We'd love to get a studio some day, but he's such a good friend so we asked him to sing on the tour, and he suggested 'Wonderful Life' which really worked. It's an honour to sing with him."
