After a few days of good weather, Brits may be hoping that the long weekend this week provides similar temperatures.
Prima magazine has published a number of hints and tips to help those hosting a barbecue get the most out of the bank holiday and any fine weather that may present itself.
The publication suggested that cleaning the grill before and after use will keep it hygienic and in good condition.
It added that the charcoal should be given up to 45 minutes to preheat before any food is added to the barbecue.
In terms of improving flavour, inexpensive meats, fishes and vegetables can be boosted by marinating them with a few simple herbs and spices.
However, it is important to remember that the barbecue will intensify tastes and also that sugary marinades can burn easily.
Those cooking poultry, fish and seafood should opt for citrusy marinades, while spicy flavours work well with red meat.
The Met Office has predicted that Friday and Saturday will bring sunshine and showers for many, although Sunday and Monday are likely to bring unsettled weather.
