Kristen Bell talks about losing her baby weight

Kristen Bell talks to Redbook about losing her baby weight and becoming a working mother.

A few celebrity magazines have recently been under fire having made comments about Kate Middleton’s plans to lose her baby weight. Plenty of other celebrity mums hit back, talking about the ridiculous pressure for mothers to regain their pre-baby figures.

One celebrity who has not let the pressure get to her is actress Kristen Bell who had her baby girl Lincoln back in March. Speaking to Redbook in their current issue, she says: “I refused to worry about something I could not change, and I still refuse. Look, I’m like any other woman. All this evolved b.s. that I’m telling you is my mantra: It’s not something I practice naturally. I had to surrender to not worrying about the way I looked, how much I weighed, because that’s just part of the journey of having a baby. I am not a woman whose self-worth comes from her dress size.”

Her priorities have changed now that she’s a mother, but that doesn’t mean she wants to give up work completely. “I still want a career,” she says. “Lincoln will always be number one, but I think if you can cut that cord of obsessiveness, then you can work and be a good mother and wife.”

Knowing she wants to be a parent and have a job doesn’t make missing her daughter much easier, however. “I can’t look at her pictures today, because it hurts my feelings,” she says. “I start wondering what she’s thinking, like ‘Where’s the girl with the blonde hair and the boobs?’”
