Katie Couric is a well-loved TV personality in the States. She hosts her own chat show and often discusses with celebrities their personal problems and demons they’re battling, but this time Couric has decided to come clean about her own issues.
When Demi Lovato was a guest on her show in September and spoke about having bulimia, Katie admitted that she had suffered from the eating disorder, too. Speaking to American magazine, MORE, Katie says: “I [was] asking people to reveal their innermost feelings about [this issue], and I actually know about it. I have had this issue; my sister Emily, who passed away, had this issue. So I thought, ‘This is the time’…I know this mind game that goes on where if you don't adhere to this strict calorie restriction, it makes you feel really bad about yourself, and this vicious cycle kicks in.”
She also talks about the aftermath of her husband’s death, when her daughters were just two and six and in need of a father figure.
“I really did love my husband a lot, but after Jay died, I always thought I’d end up like Florence Henderson on The Brady Brunch. It’s actually surprising to me that it has been almost 15 years, and I haven’t remarried.”
