Conde Nast Traveller magazine subscription holders heading to Argentina's wine country may be interested in the publication's tips for the region.

It suggests that travellers stay at Cavas Wine Lodge in the Mendoza region, which is famous for its Malbecs - described by the magazine as the "perfect accompaniment to Argentine meat".

Guests can sample the local produce at the restaurant, with candlelight dining on their roof terraces or beside their private plunge pools also available.

Fourteen adobe-style buildings measuring 90 sq m offer spacious accommodation, while a Moorish spa provides grapeseed exfoliations and wine baths.

The magazine advises travellers to head to Bodegas Escorihuela Gascon for a vineyard tour and a trip to its famous restaurant, run by Francis Mallmann.

Accessed by a flight to Buenos Aires' Ezeiza airport and another from Jeorge Newbery domestic terminal to Mendoza, the area has enough to satisfy any wine lover.

Other Argentinean attractions include the Iguazu Falls - a beautiful set of waterfalls on the border with Brazil and Paraguay.
