If you tuned in to watch The Great British Bake Off last night you would have seen 23-year-old law student John Whaite named winner.
We’re sure those of you with a Food Heaven magazine subscription have been watching the series the whole way through and will have agreed that his Heaven and Hell chocolate cake – made up of small lemon and coconut cakes placed on a chocolate and orange cake - made him a deserving winner.
John faced stiff competition from fellow finalists James Morton and Brendan Lynch, who were actually both favourites to win the competition but Whaite was the dark horse of the competition and pulled it out of the bag.
Since winning, John has passed his law degree with First Class Honours and is now looking into training to become a patissier. We wish him the best of luck!
