Don't fancy getting crushed, muddy and fighting for a place in the portaloo queue this summer? Then Harper's Bazaar magazine may have just the answer.

Music lovers who prefer a slightly more sophisticated festival than the crowds of Glastonbury or Leeds may be more interested in the various picnic festivals taking place in the UK during the warmer months.

The likes of Diana Krall, Rufus Wainwright, Jamie Cullum and Will Young will be playing at Kenwood House in Hampstead as it hosts a number of top pop, jazz and classical musicians over nine days.

Meanwhile, the Audley End House picnic concerts in Essex will feature acts like Howard Jones, Rick Astley and Kim Wilde.

For those who hope to spot some celebrities in the crowd, the Cornbury Festival in Charlbury, Oxfordshire could be just the ticket.

Prince William and Natalie Imbruglia are just two of the esteemed guests that have attended the event in recent years and with The Feeling, Newton Faulkner and David Gray set to play in 2010, more famous faces are a certainty.

Those who would prefer a trip to the continent could head to Germany's Fusion Festival, which takes place from June 24th to 27th.
