Damon Albarn 'created Gorillaz album on iPad'

NME magazine subscription holders can read how Gorillaz creator Damon Albarn created the band's new album on his iPad.

If you're a music fan with an NME magazine subscription you can read how Gorillaz star Damon Albarn created the band's latest album using his iPad.

The singer, who fronts Brit-pop band Blur as well, said the group's new release could be out by Christmas.

He told NME magazine: "I fell in love with my iPad as soon as I got it, so I've made a completely different kind of record. It's ironic, being the sort of technophobe and Luddite that I am."

The singer said the album had a more American feel to it than previous offerings from the band.

"It sounds like an English voice that has been put through the vocoder of America," Albarn added.

"I'm doing something next year about a subject that's really close to my heart. I'm not telling you what it is."

Gorillaz were nominated in the Q Awards 2010, last month, in the best video category for Stylo.
