Amateur Gardening magazine subscription holders reading the latest edition will have a double Christmas issue to mull over during the festive period.

Included in the publication are Peter Seabrook's tips on winter berries, as well as Bob Flowerdew's suggestions of what gardeners should be getting up to during the colder months.

Anne Swithinbank also explains how to make a home-grown Christmas lunch, while Alys Fowler gives a masterclass in making decorations for Yuletide.

Furthermore, the magazine contains tips on creating a winter container for plants at the front door, as well as a chance to win £150 of garden vouchers.

Meanwhile, the Royal Horticultural Society's Garden Wisley attraction is currently hosting a display of atmospheric lighting.

Its glasshouses, gardens, plants, trees and lakes will be illuminated in a range of vibrant colours until January 3rd.

The site also recently revealed that it is to host famous soprano singer Dame Kiri Te Kanawa as part of its music festival in June.
