British Fashion Award nominees named

Fashion followers with an Elle magazine subscription can find out just who's been nominated for this year's British Fashion Awards.

The Oscar's of the UK fashion calendar will be hosted in December this year and Elle magazine's eagerly awaiting the event.

Slightly surprisingly, Victoria Beckham has been nominated for the Designer Brand of the Year award, alongside fashion greats including Burberry, Pringle of Scotland and Mulberry.

For the first time, Phoebe Philo has been nominated for the coveted Designer of the Year title. She's in contention with Christopher Zane and Erdem.

The Emerging Talent award for ready-to-wear clothing has some names to look out for in the future - Mary Katrantzou, Meadham Kirchhoff and Michael Van Der Ham.

This year, the Model of the Year category sees a male nominee in the midst, with David Gandy doing battle with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Lara Stone.

The British Fashion Awards were established in 1989, they aim to celebrate the best of British talent in the industry.
