NME magazine is celebrating its makeover by releasing a special edition this week, which will be printed with no fewer than ten different covers.

The publication will feature music luminaries such as Kasabian, Florence And The Machine and LCD Soundsystem.

Barbadian songstress Rihanna is also set to grace one of the issues and spoke to the magazine about how she hates having to subliminally promote things in her music videos through product placement.

The star revealed that she has to comply with advertising contracts, but that it leaves a nasty taste in the mouth.

"I hate it. I think videos should just tell the story of the song. And then with product placement it all just becomes this big ad campaign," she told NME.

Rihanna added that if it were up to her, she would never have product placement in her promotional videos.

The singer has enjoyed much success in the UK with hits such as Umbrella and Shut Up And Drive.
