Spider-Man actor James Franco, who has scored a nomination for his role in 127 Hours, told Newsweek magazine Gus Van Sant's My Own Private Idaho was an amazing film. "There was something about this movie that hit me as a viewer," he said.
Nicole Kidman, nominated for her appearance in Rabbit Hole, is a massive fan of Woody Allen, but she said Grease is one of her favourite movies of all time. "We did it at school on the playground. I wore the hotpants and wanted to be that character," she told Newsweek magazine.
If Natalie Portman, star of the highly-acclaimed film Black Swan, could pick any film it'd be "Dirty Dancing over and over again".
"I probably should have related to the Jewish girl in New York, but I always wanted to be the pretty blonde girl who had an abortion," the actress told Newsweek magazine.
Natalie's latest flick, which is a psychological thriller set in the world of ballet, achieved Fox Searchlight's biggest UK box office opening weekend.
