Whilst opinions on Thatcher’s time as prime minister differ greatly, there’s no denying that she was a significant part of British history - being the first (and so far only) female prime minister - and a sad loss to those who knew and respected her.
Thatcher suffered a severe stroke and peacefully passed away at The Ritz hotel today, where she had been staying due to her continuing poor health.
The Queen, David Cameron and Barack Obama have all made statements honouring the Baroness and her achievements and her funeral is set to be held at St. Paul’s Cathedral next week.
