FT’s How To Spend It launches men's column

The Financial Times' magazine How To Spend It add new column, The Sharpener, focusing on men's fashion.

If you have a newspaper subscription to The Financial Times then we’re sure you’ve often checked out the accompanying magazine, How To Spend It. It features great articles on everything from fashion, jewellery and homeware to travel, technology and cars.

The magazine will now also be including a fashion column aimed at men, named The Sharpener. Obviously, a considerable number of readers are male and take just as much pride in their appearance as women. The column will be written by style commentator and stylist Tom Stubbs, so he'll know what he's talking about.

Of the new column, How To Spend It’s editor Gillian de Bono said: “The Sharpener follows the success of our first themed men’s style section, Wise Guise, which appeared last October and is now bi-annual. The current renaissance in men’s tailoring, and strong global growth in men’s wear in general, makes the column a natural fit for an internationally distributed magazine with a high proportion of male readers. Tom has an astute eye and immaculate taste which is completely in tune with this affluent, discerning readership.”
