Good Housekeeping magazine subscription holders are this month being encouraged to host a festive cookie swap party.
Doing so allows people to share the holiday fun, socialising in a friendly, homely environment, while sampling the many types of cookie available without having to bake them all, the magazine explained.
It suggested that such a party is an ideal way to reward yourself for dealing with all the preparations for the festive period.
All you have to do is ask friends and family members to bake a batch or two of one type of cookie and bring them to the party.
The treats are then swapped and taken home so that each guest has a selection of tasty baked goods to present their family with - or keep to themselves if they so desire.
Good Housekeeping magazine features a range of recipes for cookies and other tasty eatables.
The publication is all set to celebrate its 125th anniversary in 2010, so those who order a subscription should be able to share in the festivities.
