City to raid Spain

Manchester City are set to splash the cash on two massive stars from La Liga, Match of the Day magazine has suggested.

Manchester City fans may be drooling at the prospect of the Eastlands club raiding La Liga this summer.

According to Match of the Day magazine, they have all but signed Ivory Coast hard man Yaya Toure in a move that would reunite the Barcelona and Ivory Coast midfielder with his brother Kolo.

The star will reportedly set the cash-rich club back a whopping £28 million and will slot in next to Gareth Barry in midfield.

Such an pairing could be the perfect anchor for City's forward line, which looks set to be boosted by another top signing from Spain.

Spanish international David Silva looks set to sign on the dotted line in a deal reputed to be worth £25 million in transfer fees and £160,000 a week in wages.

However, there will be a price to pay for the transfers, with Stephen Ireland, Michael Johnson and Craig Bellamy looking likely to depart.

There had been speculation earlier in the summer that Welshman Bellamy could be set for a return to Celtic.
