The final issue of Dandy is on sale now

Dandy's final printed issue is on sale now and set to become a collector's item!

If you have a Beano subscription, we’re sure you’re also a big fan on Dandy too. The publishers of Dandy sadly announced a few months ago that the magazine would be ceasing publication and the last ever printed issue is currently on sale now – so be sure to go and get a copy as it's already being considered a collector's item.

The magazine, which made household names of Desperate Dan and Korky the Kat was first published on 4th December 1937 and the last issue coincides with the magazine’s 75th anniversary. The issue features Paul McCartney alongside Desperate Dan, a dream of the singer’s since 1963.

It won’t be gone forever though, as the comic will be turned digital instead. Dandy’s head of digital development said: "The Dandy is alive and well, and it's going to continue as usual it's just as of next week it's going to be available online on a regular basis, with all the famous characters and scripts and storylines and humour, as well as games, goodies and interactivity.

"It's all about fun, humour and a bit of mischief, a bit of pranking. We've been quite deliberate in making sure there's very little if any educational value, with the exception of reading."

If you still want a comic to hold in your hands though, don’t forget Dandy’s brother publication! Subscribe and save on a Beano magazine subscription today.
